She has travelled to Japan six times for in-depth hands-on training with the senseis. Ashley earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Reed College, Portland, Oregon. Her senior thesis in developmental biology involved centrifuging early frog embryos at zero gravity to see if it would reverse the dorsal-ventral polarity and it did. It was an exciting time to be in the lab! Several of these early frog development experiments were chosen by NASA under the direction of her advisor Professor Steve Black, PhD to go up in space. This turned in to a very amusing ‘Frogs in Space’ interview at the lab by the local news.

Ashley is a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Colorado.

Ashley is Nationally licensed in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology through the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, NCCOAM.
